The clinical council meets monthly and includes key members of the hospital governance team, heads of department, community and general practice representation.

Meetings include a group in focus which rotates through the year to cover a wide range of facilities, including general practice.

They also include reports from key committees and hospital management including quality and safety, finance, JMOs and research.

As the primary care representative, I have an important role in bringing the voice of primary care to to table.  Through this committee we have seen an improvement in the quality and timeliness of discharge summaries and improvements in the outpatient referral process.

As a division, we continue to strive to network with our local hospitals to improve communication and patient care.
