We are a charitable organisation committed to empowering General Practitioners in the St George area through education, advocacy and collegiality, because strong general practice is the foundation of a healthy community.
Peer Group Learning and continuous professional development
Representing GPs across ANSC, Aged Care, Clinical Councils and more
Events, dinners and peer networks that build a connected GP community
Everything we do as an organisation flows from these three values - they guide our programs, our events and our advocacy work.
Through the CESPHN GP Peer Group Learning (PGL) program, we give GPs the opportunity to share knowledge, earn CPD hours and grow professionally in a supportive, peer-led environment. Six local groups run across Lugarno, Hurstville and Kogarah.
We represent local GPs across seven committees - from Antenatal Shared Care and Aged Care to Health Pathways and Urgent Care; ensuring the primary care voice shapes regional health decisions and hospital relationships.
From the annual AGM Dinner to specialist networking evenings and our popular Weekend Away Retreats, we create spaces for GPs to connect, share and find camaraderie with colleagues who understand the frontline experience.
We are a charitable organisation committed to supporting General Practitioners who live or work in the St George area of Sydney. Our purpose is to promote education, advocacy and collegiality among local GPs, strengthening the delivery of primary health care and improving health outcomes for our community.
We operate with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by frontline practitioners because our committee is made up of practising GPs themselves. We create spaces for connection, learning and collaboration, whether through professional development events, peer support networks or strategic partnerships with hospitals and allied health providers.
We are proud to be one of seven member companies responsible for the governance of the Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network (CESPHN).
From our annual AGM Dinner to specialist networking evenings and weekend retreats β we run events throughout the year for the St George GP community.
The St George Division of General Practice is one of seven member companies responsible for the governance of the Central and Eastern Sydney Primary Health Network (CESPHN). In this role, we:
CESPHN's boundaries align with those of South Eastern Sydney Local Health District and Sydney Local Health District. The region incorporates 13 local government areas, which include St George.
As a division, we work in close partnership with St George Hospital, St George Private Hospital, Sutherland Hospital and a wide network of allied health providers and community organisations.
Our advocacy on the clinical chairs forum, clinical councils and sub-committees ensures that primary care has a strong, independent voice in the planning and delivery of local health services.
